New York Moratorium for Manufactured Home Business
Due to our current exposure within the counties of Nassau and Suffolk, Aegis has been operating under a new business moratorium for some time. Unfortunately we must continue this moratorium until further notice, and must return any applications that intend to insure a location in either Nassau County or Suffolk County unbound.
New PA Unoccupied Dwelling Program
Effective 4/15/11
We now offer an Unoccupied Dwelling Program in Pennsylvania through Aegis Security Insurance Company. Acceptable reasons for unoccupancy under this program are as follows:
- Dwelling is between tenancy or real estate closing
- Dwelling is for sale and has been on the market for less than one year
- Dwelling is under renovation
- Dwelling is in an estate or trust name
To view the policy jacket, coverage forms, underwriting guidelines, and application for this program, click on the Forms page to the left and select Pennsylvania and Unoccupied Dwelling. Simply complete the application and return to Mobile-Rec with payment. If paying by Credit Card, we can accept the completed and signed application by e-mail if the credit card information is included. If you are paying by check or money order, the completed and signed application should be mailed to us with the check or money order.

- 3, 6, or 12 month policy terms available.
- Renewals offered at the end of each policy term
- Premises liability available
- Vandalism & Malicious Mischief coverage included

New PA Homeowners Program
Effective 8/15/09
Aegis Security Insurance Company announces its new Bronze Homeowners program. Bronze is for the homeowner who is concerned about the cost of his current insurance but does not want to or cannot take on the risk of going uninsured. It is for the insured that has often had difficulty obtaining insurance from standard carriers. It is for the insured that wants to know his house is covered without breaking his bank account. Click on the Forms page to the left and select Pennsylvania and Homeowners to view underwriting and coverage forms.
Revised PA Manufactured Home Program
Effective 4/1/09 for new business and 6/1/09 for renewal business
Please discard any PA Manufactured Home software and/or rate guide as those rates are now obsolete. Please note the following changes; PC 9 risks will now be assigned a Protected rate, The Supplemental Heating Surcharge is now $50, Full Repair Cost and Replacement Cost are now $20 each, Golf Cart coverage now includes both physical damage and liability for $50, the Water Damage Limitation has been increased to $1,500 and can be excluded for a credit of $20, and the base deductible is now going to be $500 with an optional $25 buyback available to insureds who currently have a $250 deductible and wish to keep it.
New PA Dwelling Program
Effective 1/15/09 - Aegis has introduced a new Dwelling Fire program for 2009! Log on at www.aegisfirst.com to quote and issue new Dwelling Fire insurance policies. This niche program includes a maximum Total Insured Value of $200,000 (maximum of $125,000 on Coverage A) and it is available to risks that are owner-occupied, seasonal, rental, or vacant. Four territory definitions as well as three categories of protection classification allow for appropriate rating that is both competitive and adequate for each risk. Aegis will order inspections and run C.L.U.E. reports on all risks submitted.
Coastal Moratoriums for Aegis Security Insurance Company
Effective 9/3/08 - As a result of impending hurricane threats, the following states have been put on a moratorium for all new business submissions: South Carolina and North Carolina. This moratorium is to be effective immediately and will continue until further notice.
New PA Rider's Advantage Program - Motorcycle and Off-Road Vehicles
Effective 7/1/08 - Aegis' new Pennsylvania Rider's Advantage program is live on the AegisFirst website. Log on at www.aegisfirst.com. Rider's Advantage replaces the program previously used to write motorcylce and ATV/Off-Road business, encompassing motorcycles, mopeds, and off-road vehicles and ATVs. Aegis has implemented the use of insurance scoring in the rating and includes discounts such as Association Discount, Loss Free Renewal Discounts, Motorcycle Driver Training Discount, Multi-Unit Discount, Homeowner Discount, Transfer Discount, and Motorcycle License/ Endorsement Discount.
Aegis Introduces online rating for PA Manufactured Home - 2/26/08
Effective 3/1/08 - Pennsylvania Manufactured Home is live on the AegisFirst website. Log on at www.aegisfirst.com. As a Mobile-Rec. agent you now have access to quote, issue, and submit payment on new PA Manufactured Home insurance entirely online. Feel free to throw out your paper rate guides and delete any software you had installed on your computer, all rating will now be done online. This means no updating your files or computers every time we have a rate change. From now on all updates will be done online and will be seamless to you.
Delaware Moratorium - 9/24/07
Effective 5/23/07 -- Aegis Security Insurance Company issued a moratorium for all new business that is located in Sussex County, DE. Mobile-Rec. will advise if moratorium is lifted.

The first feature available is Policy Inquiry in which you can look up any policy you have written with us. The returned information is contained in four separate pages; General Information, Billing Information, Coverages, and Claims Information.
Uninsured Motorists and Underinsured Motorists Forms Need To Be Signed - 9/24/07
To comply with PA Supreme Court Ruling on the Sackett v. Nationwide case, Aegis Security Insurance Company has required many of its motorcycle operators to re-sign their UM / UIM forms. This affects inforce policies in which a UM / UIM Stacking Waiver, UM / UIM Rejection of Coverage, or Selection of Lower Limit form was signed at the time of application AND coverage was either increased or another unit was added to the policy since inception. Aegis has mailed the appropriate forms to be re-signed as well as a cover letter of explanation to each insured who met the criteria.
